Odour of Chrysanthemums
In D. H. Lawrences short story, perfume of Chrysanthemums, Lawrence has chrysanthemums as a major symbolization all throughout the story. The chrysanthemum, equal most other charges, has a ecumenic symbolism of ecstasy and consent. While, in Odour of Chrysanthemums, Lawrence created his have interpretation of what the chrysanthemum can translate. Although, this soul symbol of the chrysanthemum in Lawrences short story is rattling complicated, unlike the common interpretation. In Odour of Chrysanthemums, the chrysanthemum has mixed symbolism of representing unpleasantness as intumesce, as moments of harmony. These moments of gaiety reaffirm the chrysanthemum universal symbolism, piece the moments of unhappiness reaffirm how the flower can represent rue and anger.\nDue to the nature of flowers with their clowning and aesthetic beauty, they have ever so and will always be known as representing life. These wondrous plants have always had a way to speak the universal l anguage of love and hope to people. The chrysanthemums are no different, with their universal symbolism of optimism and friendship, as closely as happiness and hope. Flowers unravel to be a liberal part of weddings and the birth of children. This was no exception in Odour of Chrysanthemums, where Elizabeth Bates received chrysanthemums when she married [her husband], and chrysanthemums when [her child] was born.
